BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Sept. 24, 2019) – After helping lead the Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team to a 2-0 week, senior Rebecca Erwin was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association National Player of the Week.
Erwin was also recently named Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Offensive Player of the Week. Erwin was outstanding for the Panthers. Against No. 5 Berry, she posted 14 kills and a .219 attack percentage. Then against another SAA member, Oglethorpe, she added 12 kills and hit .579 in a win against the Stormy Petrels.
For the week, Erwin was consistent, hitting a .399 average and helping the Panthers win six of nine sets. Overall, BSC is 8-3 and a perfect 2-0 in league play.
