VanCampen of Berry and Dwyer of Hendrix earn SAA Volleyball Player of the Week awards

ATLANTA (Sept. 16, 2019) – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced that Carson VanCampen (Berry) and Lauren Dwyer (Hendrix) have been named SAA Volleyball Players of the Week.

Offense - Carson VanCampen - Middle Blocker - Berry 

Like she has all season, VanCampen continued to play great. In 13 sets, she finished with an average of 3.46 kills. She hit .376 and averaged 1.15 blocks per set. Against Heidelberg, she posted 14 kills and a .387 attack percentage. She followed that up with a 10-kill performance against No. 14 Wittenberg. Finally, against No. 21 Ohio Northern, she posted 21 kills, hit .400, and finished with 23.5 points. 

Overall, VanCampen averaged 4.12 points per set. 

Defense - Lauren Dwyer - Outside Hitter - Hendrix

Dwyer was great, leading Hendrix to a perfect 3-0 record. In nine set wins, she averaged 4.44 digs per set. A true two-way player, Dwyer added five digs against Rhodes, 15 digs and two blocks against Howard Payne, and 20 digs and one block against Huntingdon. 

Along with her defensive stats, Dwyer also added 35 kills and 40.5 total points.
