Rhodes sweeps 2018 SAA Men and Women's Track and Field Championships

SEWANEE, Tenn. (April 21, 2018) – Rhodes swept the 2018 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Men and Women's Track and Field Championships, Saturday, on the campus of the University of the South.

The Lynx earned 194 points in the women's race to edge Centre (127.5) and Birmingham-Southern (118). Hendrix (101), Millsaps (77), Berry (71), Oglethorpe (61.5), and Sewanee (30) closed out the standings. On the men's side, Rhodes scored a winning total of 172 points. BSC was second at 135 followed by Centre with a 128 total. Berry (112), Hendrix (101), Oglethorpe (69), Millsaps (37), and Sewanee  (23) round out the scores.

The top individual winner of the women's championships went to Annie Rodenfels of Centre. The Colonel junior finished with 33 individual points. That was just ahead of Sara Kate Capel of Rhodes (32). On the men's side, Michael Spainhour of Hendrix was the top scorer.
