Carroll and O'Dea named SAA Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week

ATLANTA (March 21, 2018) – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced that Abby Carroll of Berry and Molly O'Dea of Centre have been named the SAA Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week.

Track

Abby Carroll - Berry

Carroll was outstanding as she finished second at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in the 10k. Her time of 38:22.76 set a new PR. Additionally, Carroll now leads the SAA, South/SE Region, and is ranked ninth nationally after three weeks. Her mark in the 10k is the third fastest time in Berry history.

Field

Molly O'Dea - Centre

O'Dea had a great start to her outdoor season at the Rhodes Invitational last weekend. O'Dea first competed in the women's triple jump where she finished second out of 16 competitors. O'Dea jumped 11.19 meters (36'8.50") which currently ranks her second in the SAA and 10th in all of NCAA Division III. 

O'Dea also competed in the women's long jump where she opened up with 4.86 meters (15'11.50") leap. This jump currently ranks here fourth overall in the SAA. She wrapped up the weekend with a solid mark in the women's javelin with a throw of 25.04 meters.
