ATLANTA (March 7, 2018) – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced that Kiersten Huitt of Hendrix and Genesis Leggett of Berry have been named the SAA Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week.
Kiersten Huitt - Hendrix
Last weekend, Huitt was outstanding at the Marc Randle Classic. Huitt posted the fastest time in the SAA in the women's 100-meter hurdles with a mark of 16.23 seconds. She also had the fourth-fastest time in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:10.35.
Genesis Leggett - Berry
Last weekend, Leggett won the discus at the Berry Victor Ice-Breaker Duals. She also finished second in both the shot put and hammer throws and finished fourth in the javelin. Overall, she led Berry to dual meet wins over Sewanee and Oglethorpe and ahead of mostly NCAA Division-II schools. Currently, her marks lead the SAA in the shot put and discus and is second in the hammer and fourth in the javelin. Leggett is also ranked first in the South/SE region in the discus, third in the shot put, and fourth in the hammer.
