Tuner and Faulk of Centre named women's soccer All-Americans

ATLANTA (Nov. 30. 2018) – Centre women's soccer junior defender Jessie Turner and sophomore midfielder Averi Faulk were each named to the United Soccer Coaches All-America Second Team, Friday.

The pair were key components to Centre's remarkable 21-1 campaign, which included the program's seventh Southern Athletic Association Tournament championship and an appearance in the NCAA "Sweet 16."

Turner, who has now been named to the coaches association all-region three times and the SAA Defensive Player of the Year twice, was the cornerstone of a defense that ranked fifth in the nation in goals-against average (.31).

Faulk similarly played a role in that stout defense from the midfield, and likewise adds this honor to a growing trophy case that includes multiple all-region and All-SAA First Team nods in her young career. She has started all 44 matches across her two seasons.

The two are Centre's first All-Americans since Destinie Graves earned First Team honors in 2016 (then known as the "National Soccer Coaches Association of America").
