Strand and Fogarty of Sewanee sweep SAA Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week awards

ATLANTA (April 8, 2019) – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced that Sarah Strand and Hattie Fogarty of Sewanee have been named the SAA Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week honorees.

Offense

Sarah Strand - Sewanee

Strand led the Tigers with a career-best seven goals on 11 shots in Sewanee's 22-12 win over Hendrix. Strand finished with eight points and eight draw controls. In the second half, Hendrix cut the deficit to 16-10 with 20 minutes left, but the sophomore recorded three straight goals to put the contest away. 

Defense

Hattie Fogarty - Sewanee

Fogarty recorded a career-best six caused turnovers, recording one-third of the team's amount. She also tied a career-high in draws with seven.

Additionally, the freshman scooped up seven ground balls, to go along with two goals and an assist.
