Cox and Lazure named SAA Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week winners

ATLANTA (April 1, 2019) – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced that Jade Cox of Birmingham-Southern and Lauren Lazure of Rhodes have been named the SAA Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week honorees.

Offense

Jade Cox - Birmingham-Southern

Cox led BSC to a 2-0 record while scoring 11 goals and having one assist. Cox also added five groundballs, 12 draws, and four caused turnovers.

Defense

Lauren Lazure - Rhodes

Lazure made 24 saves, highlighted by a 68.2 save percentage in conference play. With the Lynx win over Centre, Rhodes moved to a perfect 4-0 record in SAA action. In goal, Lazure made nine saves to open the week in non-conference action before recording 15 saves against the Colonels. Lazure guided the Lynx defense to two wins and averaged 12 saves per game and 7.5 goals against average.
