ATLANTA (May 7, 2018) - The Rhodes women's lacrosse will host the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second year in a row.
Making their fourth straight NCAA appearance in the program's five-year history, Rhodes, the top-ranked team in the Mid-South, will host Transylvania on Sunday, May 13th. The 42-team tournament boasts 29 automatic bids and 13 at-large berths.
A time will be determined Tuesday. This will be the first time Rhodes and Transy will meet on the lacrosse field. The Lynx are 14-3 on the season after going undefeated in conference play for the second year in a row and enter the tournament on an eight-game win streak.
The Pioneers, who are 18-1 on the year, have won 16 straight games and are making their first-ever NCAA appearance after winning the Ohio River Women's Lacrosse Championship.
The winner of Sunday's game will advance to Trinity (Conn.)'s regional site May 19-20. The eventual NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship will be held May 26-27 in Salem, Va. at Kerr Stadium on the campus of Roanoke College.
