Henry and Crumpton earn weekly SAA Softball awards

ATLANTA (April 15, 2019) – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced that Kendall Henry of Rhodes and Haley Crumpton of Birmingham-Southern have been named the SAA Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week honorees.

Player

Kendall Henry - Rhodes

Henry has officially engraved herself in the SAA record book, recording eight RBI on the week. That now ranks second all-time in SAA history. The senior earned multiple hits in each game batting .500 or better each contest. She averaged .636 on the weekend, going 7-for-11 with two home runs, two runs scored, and a walk. Henry finished the week with a 1.182 slugging percentage and a.667 on-base percentage.

Pitcher

Haley Crumpton - Birmingham-Southern

Crumpton continued to wow with three more wins this week. The BSC pitcher tossed a perfect game against Millsaps. In that contest, she struck out 10. 

Additionally, she earned a win against ranked regional rival Emory. Overall, Crumpton finished with a 3-0 record, 22 strikeouts, and 0.41 ERA in 17.0 innings.
