Healy and Maniscalco of Rhodes sweep SAA Softball weekly awards

ATLANTA (April 8, 2019) – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced that Jill Healy and Bri Maniscalco of Rhodes have been named the SAA Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week honorees.

Jill Healy - Rhodes

Healy was a single away from hitting for the cycle on Sunday, as Rhodes shutout Sewanee in the series. Over the weekend, she went 8-for-12, earning multiple hits in each game as well as scoring in each contest. Healy tallied two home runs, three doubles, a triple, two singles, four runs scored, and nine RBI for a 1.583 slugging percentage.

In Sunday's 16-0 win, she went 3-for-4 with five RBI with a .750 average and 2.250 slugging percentage. Overall, Healy hit .667 to improve the Lynx to 22-8 on the season.

Pitcher

Bri Maniscalco - Rhodes

Maniscalco threw her first career no-hitter in her record-breaking 100th appearance, Saturday. Maniscalco tallied zero walks and zero hit by pitches. The only Tiger that reached base safely was on a fielding error, eliminating a perfect game.

Maniscalco finished with two strikeouts in the complete-game victory.
