  • Winter / Spring Academic Honor Roll Announced

    ATLANTA –The SAA announced its Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll today for the 2016 winter and spring terms and a total of 957 student-athletes made the list. To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference.
  • Spring Sports All-Sportsmanship Recipients Announced

    ATLANTA – The SAA announced the 2016 Spring Sports All-Sportsmanship Teams and 78 student-athletes among the league’s eight full-time members received recognition. Formed in 2011, the SAA places a special emphasis on good sportsmanship and fair play among all competitors.
  • Vikings' Kassie Howard Named NFCA All-American

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Kassie Howard of Berry College has been named an All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Howard, the Vikings' first softball All-American, was tabbed to the national third team.

    COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. - For the second straight season the Berry College Vikings claimed the SAA Softball crown, this time by knocking off top seed Birmingham-Southern 4-2 in the championship game to earn the hardware.
  • Softball All-Conference Award Winners Announced

    ATLANTA – The SAA announced the 2016 Softball All-Conference Award winners at a banquet held on the campus of tournament host Rhodes College on Thursday evening and, after a dominating season in the circle, Berry’s Kassie Howard swept the top honors of Player and Pitcher of the Year. Savannah Lee of Birmingham-Southern captured Newcomer of the Year while her head coach, Kimball Cassady, collected the Coach of the Year award following voting among her peers.

    ATLANTA - The SAA released the softball Players of the Week for games played April 11 - 17 and Birmingham-Southern teammates Haley Crumpton (player) and Taylor Harkins (pitcher) swept the final weekly awards of the season.
  • BSC, Berry Are Softball Regular Season Co-Champs, Tournament Bracket Released

    ATLANTA - The SAA softball season finished with a flourish on Sunday as Berry and BSC each continued winning streaks to finish tied atop the conference standings at 16-2 to become SAA Regular Season Co-Champions. The Panthers hold the top seed for the tournament after taking two of three from the Vikings earlier this season.
