No. 20 Sewanee wins its sixth straight SAA Men's Tennis Championship

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (April 22, 2018) - The No. 20 ranked Sewanee men's tennis team won its sixth straight Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championship, Sunday, with a 5-1 victory over Millsaps.

The Tigers earn the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Tournament. The Tigers are the only SAA program in conference history to win a league title.

The Majors made it challenging in doubles play, with the No. 1 and No. 2 spots going to a tiebreak. Millsaps, who has the No. 1 ranked doubles team in the region, won at No. 1 9-7 over Jack Gray and Hayden Loeb. However, Sewanee rallied with a victory at No. 2 and No. 3.

Ahead 2-1 going into singles, the Tigers rolled the title behind individual wins from Gray, Ryan Olps, and Jordan Brewer.
