SAA Champion Centre draws No. 23 Carnegie Mellon in NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 5, 2018) – The 2018 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Men's Soccer Champion Centre men's soccer team learned its fate for the upcoming NCAA Tournament Monday afternoon, and will head to Gambier, Ohio, to face No. 23 Carnegie Mellon in the opening round.
 
It's the sixth NCAA Tournament appearance in program history and second in the past three seasons, having earned the SAA's automatic bid.
 
Kenyon (14-1-2) earned hosting rights for the opening rounds Nov. 10-11, and faces Maryville (14-3-1) in the opener.
 
The Colonels (14-4-2) meet the Tartans (11-4-2) in the other opening round match Saturday, with the winners meeting in round two Sunday. 
 
Saturday will be the first meeting between the two programs.
 
Centre is 2-5 all-time in the NCAA Tournament, winning matches in 1998 and 2012. The Colonels' most recent appearance ended in a 3-2 opening-round loss at DePauw in 2016.
