ATLANTA (Dec. 5, 2017) - Rhodes senior men's soccer student-athlete Mark Robinson has been named a 2017 CoSIDA Division III Academic All-American.
Robinson, a forward for the Lynx, was named a CoSIDA Third-Team All-America. The senior played in 14 games and was second on the team in points scored. Robinson netted five goals and tallied four assists. Currently, Robinson has a 3.94 cumulative grade-point average (GPA). Additionally, the business major had three game-winning goals.
The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), recognizes student-athletes for both their academic and athletic performances. Within NCAA Division III, the Academic All-District teams are divided into eight districts as Sports Information Directors within their respective district vote for the high-caliber award. Each All-District winner moved on to the All-America voting,
Thirty-three student-athletes represent the 2017 CoSIDA Division III Academic All-America Men's Soccer Team. Eleven student-athletes were named to First-Team, 12 student-athletes were named to the Second-Team, while 10 student-athletes earned Third-Team honors.
Robinson was the only Southern Athletic Association (SAA) student-athlete named to the 2017 CoSIDA DIII Academic All-America Men's Soccer squad.
