  • Winter And Spring All-Academic Honor Roll Announced

    ATLANTA – The SAA announced its Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll today for the 2017 spring term and a total of 1,033 student-athletes made the list. To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference.

    ATLANTA - The SAA announced the 2016-17 SAA Man and Woman of the Year presented by Summit Management Corporation and Gray Stanton of Hendrix and Mason Paas of Centre each won SAA Man of the Year honors while Rhodes' Mackenzie Cohen claimed SAA Woman of the Year status.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team saw three named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-South Region Team. Luke Etheridge (Nolensville, Tenn./Ravenwood HS), Patrick Erickson (Washington, D.C./St. Stephens & St. Agnes School), and Spencer Nichols (Jacksonville, Fla./Christ's Church Academy) were recognized for the work in the classroom.
  • Oglethorpe's Hoeft, Marquez Named to National Soccer Coaches' Scholar All-South Region Team

    ATLANTA - unior defender Josh Hoeft and junior midfielder Erik Marquez of the Oglethorpe men's soccer team added to the squad's postseason awards bounty this week, as they both took home Scholar All-South Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). It marks the first such honor for both players and the second year in a row that at least one member of the Stormy Petrels has earned NSCAA Scholar All-Region accolades.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior Dallas Coyne (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia Hills HS) picked up another postseason honor. The defender was named second-team all-south region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Coyne was one of three Southern Athletic Association student-athletes recognized, and the only on second team.

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Sophomore midfielder Topher Marshall of the Oglethorpe men's soccer team was named to the All-South Atlantic Region Third Team Thursday evening by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), marking the first All-Region honor of his career. Marshall is the third Stormy Petrel in the last four years to earn All-Region honors.

    ATLANTA, Ga. – The SAA announced the 2016 Men’s Soccer All-Conference award winners and, after exclusive voting conducted by the league’s head coaches, Topher Marshall of Oglethorpe captured Offensive Player of the Year. His Stormy Petrel teammate, Micah Akin, secured Defensive Player of the Year and Tore Schutt of Millsaps collected Newcomer of the Year. Jon Akin of Oglethorpe was named SAA Coach of the Year by his peers for the third time in five seasons.

    JACKSON, Miss. - The Oglethorpe men's soccer team clinched their second consecutive outright SAA regular season crown Sunday afternoon in Jackson, Mississippi, scoring a pair of goals in the first half en route to a 2-0 victory over Millsaps. The victory ensured the Petrels will have the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the conference's two-weekend tournament. The Petrels improved to 5-4-3 on the season overall and 5-0-1 in SAA play.
