Lynde and Jongewaard named SAA Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week winners

ATLANTA (April 1, 2019) – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced that Thomas Lynde of Sewanee and Connor Jongewaard of Centre have been named the SAA Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week honorees.

Offense

Thomas Lynde - Sewanee

Against Birmingham-Southern on Sunday, Lynde scored 10 points for the Tigers in the team's 15-14, overtime victory. Sewanee trailed 9-6 at the half, and Lynde went to work. In the fourth quarter comeback that saw Sewanee score seven goals, he finished with six points, one goal and five assists, to help Sewanee recover from the halftime deficit. 

Additionally, Lynde finished the week with five goals and four assists as the Tigers stay tied for the league-lead with Rhodes.

Defense

Connor Jongewaard - Centre

For the second straight week, Jongewaard was stellar. The Centre goalkeeper earned a 9-6 win over Birmingham-Southern. Along with a league-low GAA of 6.00, Jongewaard finished with 15 saves and a 71.4 save percentage.
