Berchock and Wharton named Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week winners

ATLANTA (April 2, 2018) – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced that Chris Berchock of Berry and Tal Wharton of Sewanee have been named the SAA Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week honorees.

Offense

Chris Berchock - Berry

Berchock scored six goals which led all-scorers in the Vikings' match against Oglethorpe. His six goals tied the Berry single-game program record for goals in a contest, doubling the second highest goal total on the day.

Finishing the day with six shots, all of which were on goal, Berchock also added an assist and a ground ball in the win.

Defense

Tal Wharton - Sewanee

Wharton recorded a conference-best 13 saves in Sewanee's 11-6 victory over Centre. In the win, Wharton saved 13 shots and had a goals-against average of 6.00. He also stopped 68.4 percent of Centre's attempts.
