ATLANTA (Nov. 5, 2018) – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced that Colin Burnam (Centre), TJ Melontree (Austin), and Ryder Andrews (BSC) have been named SAA Football Players of the Week.
Offense - Colin Burnam - Senior Running Back - Centre
Burnam had a career day running for 157 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries. His three touchdowns were a career high. On Centre's opening possession, Burnam set the pace with five carries, which included a 41-yard touchdown run.
Defense - TJ Melontree - Senior Defensive Back - Austin
Melontree had an outstanding game in the secondary for Austin, making six tackles and picking off two passes. Melontree's first interception came in the end zone, and his second was a spectacular, fully-stretched out pick that he returned 26 yards. He also had a tackle-for-loss.
Special Teams - Ryder Andrews - Senior Kicker/Punter - Birmingham-Southern
Andrews was perfect in the Panthers' 34-17 win over Millsaps. He was 4-for-4 in point after kicks and went 2-for-2 in field goals. Andrews broke his previous program record by drilling a 52-yarder to open scoring in the first quarter. He also had three punts for 126 yards, a 42-yard average with a long of 46. Finally, Andrews had seven kickoffs for 399 yards, a 57 yard average, with one touchback.
