Led by Johns, nine SAA student-athletes selected to the d3baseball.com all-region team

ATLANTA (May 21, 2018) - Led by Berry freshman Spence Johns, nine Southern Athletic Association (SAA) baseball student-athletes were named to the d3baseball.com all-region team.

Johns headline the awards for the conference after being named the d3baseball.com South Region Rookie of the Year. Johns was also named to the first-team along with teammate Jacob Delk and Andrew Mink of Oglethorpe. Nick Bosma of Rhodes was named to the second-team while Will Toner and Jake Cook of Birmingham-Southern, along with Devin Post and Trey Rampy of Berry and Adrian Celata of OU were all named to the third-team.

As Berry's second baseman, Johns ranked third in batting average (.413) and sixth in on-base percentage (.467). Johns slugged .487 while hitting seven doubles and two triples. The Berry freshman drove in 29 RBI and ranked eighth in total bases (73). On the mound, Johns finished with a 4-1 record and a save. In 26 innings, he struck out 26.
