Giacomazzi and Cook named SAA Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week

ATLANTA (April 16, 2018) – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced that Paul Giacomazzi of Rhodes and Jake Cook of Birmingham-Southern have been named the SAA Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week honorees.

Paul Giacomazzi - Rhodes

Giacomazzi earned multiple hits and at least one RBI in each game as the Lynx swept Hendrix last weekend. The center fielder tallied six hits on 13 at-bats including a double and a triple without striking out. He added four RBI with four runs scored and a sac fly. On the weekend, Giacomazzi's .692 slugging percentage and .462 average helped the Lynx earn their most conference wins in program history.

Pitcher

Jake Cook - Birmingham-Southern

Cook earned the win for his performance in BSC's 5-3 victory over Oglethorpe, Friday. Cook pitched six shutout innings, allowing just three hits and striking out six batters. He did not allow a walk.
