Celata and Rampy named SAA Baseball Player of the Week winners

ATLANTA (Feb. 19, 2018) – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced that Adrian Celata and Trey Rampy have been named the SAA Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week honorees.


Trey Rampy - Berry

Rampy was outstanding, earning two wins over No. LaGrange last week. On Tuesday, Rampy threw six innings, allowing just two hits, while striking out five Panthers in the Vikings' 7-1 victory. Rampy then earned his second win of the week against the Panthers Sunday. During that game,  Rampy went five innings and allowed five hits and no earned runs, while striking out eight. On the week, Rampy held the No. 10 LaGrange offense to a mere .175 batting average, allowing just seven hits and one run while striking out 13 batters to lead Berry to a four-game winning streak.

Adrian Celata - Oglethorpe

Celata had an outstanding week, leading his team to a pair of victories over MacMurray over the weekend. He went 4-for-10 over four games with a home run, a double, six walks, a sacrifice fly, a stolen base, seven RBIs and six runs scored. He saved his best performance for the final game of the week, going 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, three RBIs and four runs scored in the team's victory over MacMurray on Sunday.
