Babb of Oglethorpe and McNulty of Sewanee named SAA Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week winners

ATLANTA (Feb. 5, 2018) – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced that Kyle Babb of Oglethorpe and Chris McNulty of Sewanee have been named the SAA Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week honorees.

Kyle Babb - Oglethorpe

Starting against Covenant, the junior left-hander earned his first win of the season after he allowed only one run and struck out six in four innings of work. Babb did not allow a hit and posted a K/9 ratio of 13.50. Combined with Alex Smith, Noah Cole and Jack Bartlewski, the OU pitchers tossed a no-hitter against the Scots. It marked the fourth no-hitter in Oglethorpe's Division III history and the first since 1996.

Chris McNulty - Sewanee

On the road against No. 10 ranked LaGrange, McNulty finished the three-game series with a .357 average and slugged .429. Along with his five hits, McNulty added three runs and four RBI. Additionally, McNulty had a double and one walk against the Panthers top USA South pitching staff.
