Giacomazzi named a 2017 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove recipient

ATLANTA (Aug. 17, 2017) – Rhodes rising sophomore baseball student-athlete Paul Giacomazzi has been named a 2017 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings Gold Glove recipient the ABCA released.

"Paul is by far the best defensive centerfielder I have coached and we have had some pretty good ones," said Rhodes Head Coach Jeff Cleanthes. "He saved so many runs for us. We are definitely excited to have him for the next three years."

Giacomazzi garnered All-SAA Honorable Mention honors during his first collegiate season. The quick outfielder did not commit an error in 121 putouts.

At the plate, Giacomazzi hit .315, with a .380 on-base percentage, and a .400 slugging percentage in 42 games.

The Finance major was one of nine recipients among NCAA Division III student-athletes to receive this honor. He was the only SAA student-athlete.
