ATLANTA (Jan. 25, 2018) - The Conway Athletic Awards Commission announced that Hendrix student-athlete Sara Dyslin was selected as the winner of the 2017 Marvin Delph Award for Sportswomen of the Year.

This award is named in honor of Conway native and Arkansas Razorback legend Marvin Delph. It is given annually to both a male and female winner designated as the Conway sportspersons of the year.

The award was created to honor Conway's rich athletic past, present, and future. Each year the winners are selected by the local media and college representatives. 

Dyslin had nothing short of amazing careers in both basketball and volleyball while at Hendrix. In basketball she scored 1,193 points, averaging 16.1 per game, and shot 56.7 percent (420-for-741) from the field and 76.1 percent (353-for-464) from the free throw line. Dyslin also had 802 rebounds (10.8 per game), 67 assists, 106 blocks and 72 steals. She holds the school record in field goal percentage and ranks second in rebounds, rebounds per game, blocks, blocks per game, fourth in points per game and free throws made, eighth in points and ninth in field goals made. 

For basketball Dyslin was named the 2015-16 & 2016-17 Southern Athletic Association Player of the Year, as well as the 2014-15 SAA Newcomer of the Year. She made the 2014-15, 2015-16 & 2016-17 All-SAA First Team and was named the 2014-15 South Region Rookie of the Year. Dyslin was also named to the 2016-17 All-South Region First Team, 2015-16 All-South Region Second Team, and the 2015 & 2017 SAA All-Tournament Team. She received the title of  SAA Player of the Week on 2/16/15, 12/21/15, 2/1/16, 2/15/16, 11/28/16, 12/5/16, 1/17/17 & 2/13/17. Dyslin also made the National Team of the Week on 2/17/15. She was on the 2015, 2016 & 2017 SAA Academic Honor Roll and made the 2016-17 All-ArkansasSports.Net Small College First Team. Dyslin was a 2016-17 Jostens Trophy Finalist and on the 2016-17 CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team. For basketball, she was a 2016-17 CoSIDA Academic All-District member.

Dyslin's achievements for volleyball were just as outstanding. She played in 335 sets at middle blocker and recorded 839 kills (2.50 per set), hit .295 with 22 assists, 80 aces, 352 digs and 368 total blocks (110 per set).

Dyslin was the 2016 Southern Athletic Association Player of the Year, and made the 2014, 2015 & 2016 All-SAA First Team. She was named the 2015 SAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player and made the 2014 SAA All-Tournament Team. Dyslin was also named the 2015 NCAA Regional Tournament Most Outstanding Player as well as made the 2014 NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team. She was the SAA Offensive Player of the Week on 10/13/14 & 10/3/16, and the SAA Defensive Player of the Week on 11/2/15. Dyslin was on the 2014, 2015 & 2016 SAA Academic Honor Roll, and the 2016 AVCA All-America Third Team. She was named to the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team and made the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-District. Dyslin was the 2016 SAA Tournament MVP and made the 2016 AVCA All-South Region First Team.
