SAA Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week - Ella Makin of Berry
Ella Makin collected 16 saves on the week, as she led the Berry College women's lacrosse team to a 2-0 finish in regular season play, as well as a No. 4-seed spot for postseason play. In the Vikings' 15-7 victory over LaGrange on Tuesday, Makin added 10 saves, while allowing only seven goals, in her complete-game win for Berry. She then collected an additional six saves against Oglethorpe on Saturday, leading the Vikings to their eighth SAA victory of the year. On the season, Makin has recorded 963 minutes in goal for Berry, recording 129 saves, while allowing an average of 9.71 goals per game. She currently ranks in the top-five in every defensive category in the conference, including saves (129), save percentage (45.3), goals against (156) and goals-against average (9.71). Behind Makin, the Vikings are now8-8 overall, as well as 5-2 in the SAA on the year.
